Tom Lew - Business Manager
Mr Thomas Lew has a broad career in Banking and Finance and International Business Consultancy. His passion is to work on challenging projects with management teams to develop creative solutions for agreed outcomes. With interest spanning across multiple nations in diverse business ventures, he sits on the boards of numerous private companies and is a strong supporter of Community Welfare Services and benevolent programs that offer positive solutions in community wholeness, wellbeing, social and economic advancement. Mr Lew manages the financial aspects of Gateway to ensure its sustainability. |
Debra Knight - Food Centre Director
Mrs Debra Knight is Gateway Care’s Food Centre Director. Having started with the Food Centre in 2006 as a volunteer. Debra has been instrumental in the success and growth of the Community program. In 2009 she was appointed Food Centre Manager, possessing the qualities needed to be empathetic and caring towards those in need and skilled and resourceful in bringing in Grocery product lines through multiple suppliers and networks to meet these needs. Appointed to the board in Dec 2012. Debra managers the Food Centre (as a whole) but strategically supervisors the Logistics and Warehouse area cover all goods coming into the Food Centre and Café. 2019 “Citizen of the Year” community award for her outstanding achievements. |
Amanda Peterson - Administration
Mrs Amanda Peterson is a recognised Primary School teacher / leader. Currently employed by Education Qld. Amanda offers casual support to Gateway Care as needed in administration functions at least 1 day per week. She work in Senior teaching positions including Support Teacher: Literacy and Numeracy, Curriculum Co-ordinator, Assistant/Deputy Principal and as a Classroom Teacher. Amanda conducts herself with professionalism, flexibility and in a caring and supportive manner. She is a skilled communicator, delivering and modelling quality teaching processes and supports Gateway Care through Human Resource management, Grant writing and implementing policies and procedures. |
Kristy Jedyn - Food Centre Manager
Kristy joined the team in 2015 after being head hunted from Priceline Pharmacy. Kristy connects with many areas within the community, including the Cancer Council and fits well within Gateway's core business objectives. Having a great empathy for others and leading by example in her care for people, Kristy leads a team of volunteers and work for the dole participants instructing them in how to offer support to those in need. Kristy is a valued part of the management team and a great support to the Food Centre Director, Debra (who is also Kristy's mum). |
OUR FACILITIES |
Gateway has access to Food Resource but insufficient space (at present) to accommodate extra food items. We have new members joining everyday looking for social interaction but have inadequate facilities to accommodate increased car parking numbers and Cafe seating spaces. We are approached regularly by individuals wanting to volunteer but can only offer limited placements for key positions which include: Logistics (4) Truck Drivers, Courier Van Drivers, (and offsiders) Warehouse Stock controllers (4) with packers and stackers, Shop Cash Register operators (3) with grocery packers, Kitchen staff, Cook, Barista, Kitchen Hand, Cleaners etc and Supervisors to manage the overall operations.
