FOOD RESCUE
Gateway Food Distribution Centre rescue 20,000kg of food each week.
We accept donated items ‘near use by dates’ and ‘best before dates’ that need to be moved quickly and we get these to families that will use them straight away.
​ Food Rescue items come from Foodbank Queensland, Second Bite, local super market collections and primary producers.
FOOD RESOURCE
Gateway Food Distribution Centre distribute food to low income families for discounted prices. This supports with the rising living costs and allows families to have good food at low cost.
Local Community Groups come to collect food to re-distribute or utilise for their crisis care group. Other agencies are invited to collect or order from us as we are the largest food rescuer on the Sunshine Coast.
FOOD REFRESHMENT
At Gateway Food Distribution Centre we value social inclusion and connectivity. No one should have to do life alone.
People do not care about how much you know until they know how much you care.
